I am Marnie. I was raised in the Barossa, South Australia. Prior to establishing a successful career as an Abstract Painter, Marnie Wark (my maiden name), I worked as a graphic designer in Sydney and Milan.

In 2010 I created this online store (in conjunction with my abstract painting), driven by a passion for design and sustainability. I make things that I want to have in my own home and live with every piece before it leaves my studio.

My screen prints are made by hand by me, and locally by Subterraneous Screen Printers. All prints are numbered, dated and signed “Marnie Gilder” and print editions never exceed 30. Once an edition has sold out no reprints are made.

The ‘Only Merino Barossa’ Throws are made from Merino wool sourced from my home region and they are manufactured in Victoria. My design was inspired by the view from Mengler’s Hill Lookout: an abstract patchwork of agriculture; lines of vineyards, rectangular shapes of paddocks and oval shapes of dams. It is a simplification of the glorious and diverse nature of agriculture in my home region.
